Janet Erskine Stuart Prayer Flags

As part of the celebrations in honour of the Centenary of Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ the Network of Sacred Heart Schools invited each school to send artwork to the Stuart Centre for Mission, Educational Leadership and Technology in Washington, DC.  Our school's artwork entitled "Hopeful Hyacinths" was created by Grades Primary and 3 with their art teacher Ms. D'Arcy Wilson.  The Janet Erskine Stuart Art Gallery is posted on the Stuart Centre webpage.

Prayer Flags - The Prayer Flag that we made for the centenary opening ceremonies in San Francisco is now on its way to Villa Duchesne in St. Louis.  We have just received the Prayer Flag from Woodlands Academy in Illinois and it will be displayed in different parts of the school between now and the beginning of June.  Here is the link to the website which was created to show the images of the flags from all the Network schools.

Celebrating Chinese New Year at Sacred Heart!

The Nova Scotia Chinese Culture and Arts Club performed for our Elementary School this morning to celebrate the Chinese New Year which starts tomorrow!   It was a marvelous performance.  Happy new year to our Chinese community!  We were happy to have Sr. Theresa Chu, rscj in attendance.

We are pleased to share with you some of the pictures from the performance.  The stage background is not suited to this performance as it is set up for our upcoming production of "Singin' in the Rain" February 13, 14 and 15.
